Murray McNae

Chairman

Murray is Chairman of Solnet Solutions Limited and is on the board of Open Cloud Limited. With a BSc (Hons) degree from Victoria University and several IT industry Sales and Marketing roles behind him, Murray formed Solnet Limited in 1993 which, for a decade, was the highly successful agent for Sun Microsystems in New Zealand.

In 2001, Murray was nominated as a category finalist in the Ernst and Young Enterprise of the Year award. Following that, he was appointed Chairman of
the Government ICT taskforce where he helped create a 10-year growth plan for the sector.

2005 saw Murray presented with an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit award for services to industry development. Alongside his industry achievements, Murray is a trustee of the Porirua IT Community Trust and has been secretary of his local boating club.

Murray enjoys trout fishing, getting out on the golf course and loves to go cycling whenever he can get the chance.
